Lore: Defiants - Bahmi

Bahmi's are, for me, the most interesting of the Defiant Races.  Their unique relationship and history of the planes sets them apart from the other races.  Much information is given about this race of people from the planes.
Rahn Chuluun says Bahmi are nothing without their family and community, saying behing cut off from them is like losing a limb.  Their ancestors, the Shalastir, came to Telara from the Plane of Air in the time of the original wars against the Blood Storm.  It has been more than fifteen hundred years since that time, and they feel Telara is their home as much as it is anyone's.

Bahmi are a tribal people. Dacia Ultan reminds the ascended that Bahmi must undergo trials to earn their place within their tribe, much as the Ascended must do with the Defiants.  As a people, they orniment themselves with markings, or Sefir tattoos, to remind them of their connection to their ancestors, and the great power that fighting beside them bestows them.

Several important Bahmi's survived to Terminus.  Rahn Chuluun, the second-in-command behind Asha Catari, was, at one time, chief of the Red Sun Tribe.  He speaks often of his daughter, Uriel, who died defending Meridian from the Guardian assult.  He said dispite his insistance, she would not allow herself to be saved.
